OH RUTTER look-up I have hit a total brick wall on the Rutter side of my family. My great grandfather was James E. Rutter b. Jan. 1847. Various records give birth state as either Ohio or PA. While I have found several James Rutters' on both the Ohio and PA 1850 Census records, as well as the 1860 records, I can not determine which one he might be. The naming patterns of all would fit. Also, from the death notice of his wife, Sarah, he died within a couple of weeks of her death which was Nov. 27, 1933. They were living in Logan County at the time of their deaths with a daughter in Allen County. I realize there is more than likely no birth record of him but if I could find his death certificate, I might be able to narrow this down and find his parents. Any help anyone can give would been greatly appreciated. I am living in Texas and unable to try tracking this the "old-fashioned" way. I also have not been able to find the place of his burial.
