Subject: PRUITTS WILKINS GRAVES

Searching for the graves of my ancestors below. I understand in or near Clinton, New Albany and Wallerville, MS. They all lived at one time in Pontotoc Co and then that part of the county became Union Co., MS.

Joseph Pruitt Sr

D 7/26/1864 Pontotoc Co., MS

Spouse

Joseph Jackson Pruitt Jr
B 12/12/1829 Jackson Co., GA
D 12/5/186? TX

Jinni Wilkins Pruitt
B 1859 MS
D ?

Lucy Wilkins Hurd Pruitt
B 10/1855 MS
D 11/28/1919 Clinton, Hinds Co., MS

Laura F. Houlditch Wilkins
B 11/27/1836 SC
D 9/7/1922 ?

Notes - Joseph Sr and Martha came to Pontotoc Co in 1836 from Franklin Co GA. I have been told via the Natchez Trace. He is said to be buried next to Martha on there old farm near New Albany MS. Joseph J Pruitt Jr, son of Joseph Sr and Martha. Went to TX after 1860. He died young and they say in TX. Don't know how. But have found no proof of his death there. Have been told his wife Emma Houlditch Pruitt died in TX and is buried there. But I found her grave at Wallerville Cemetery in Union Co., MS. But no sign of Joseph.

Jinni Wilkins Pruitt first married Joseph J Pruitt III. Then they had two daughters. Found one at Wallerville Cemetery - Mattie she was four months old at death. I located there other daughter Nina dead at 19 years in Henderson Co., TX. Where the family moved to. Then Joseph III married Lucy Wilkins Hurd. Her husband Alexander Hurd was evidentially killed according to the 1860 MS census, Lucy is shown as a widow and living with her parents David and Laura Wilkins. She had two sons Alex and Fred. Don't know what became of Alex. Fred went to TX with the Pruitt family and lived and died in Ft. Worth. Lucy had four kids with Joseph III and then went to TX and lived for years and then back to MS and died in 1919. Joseph stayed in TX and remarried a third time in 1911. Unknown to me why Lucy and Joseph separated. She and Joseph III was my G grandparents. Parents to my granddad Joe Pruitt IV (1887 MS - 1961 CA)

Laura Houlditch is my GG grandmother as well as her sister Emma. Emma was married to my GG Grandfather Joseph Jr. Laura married David Wilkins in Pontotoc MS. They were Jinni and Lucy's parents. And Emma and Joseph Jr was Joseph III parents.

Any information on the above people burial locations is appreciated. Or any other information as well.

Feel free to ask about the Pruitt's and Wilkins family, I had allot of information and willing to share.

Thanks

Bob
