Subject: [ROOTS-L] Re: ROOTS-L Digest V05 #417

The Indiana State Library has lots of genealogical data.

They have a lot of information about their resources at
http://www.statelib.lib.in.us/www/isl/whoweare/genealogy.html

I think it would pay to check out what they have before you get there,
so you can make the best
use of your time. They have microfilms of many old newspapers. I have
borrowed several films of Logansport papers
via interlibrary loan. It is not real fast, but it does work basically
for the cost of postage.

The folks at the Pulaski county Library in Winamac has a good genealogy
section and has helped me a lot by mail. Including images of
newspaper stories and copies of a card file of births, marrriages, and
deaths by surname.
They are very nice and helpful

Also the Pulaski county InGen web site is very useful.

With lots of time till September, you should be able to find gold in Indy

Our connections to Winamac are via the HOFFMAN family. The ones who had
the hardware and grocery business in Winamac. Any
Connection?
