Subject: [ROOTS-L] looking for canadian mining records. . .

Hi there,
I was hoping that someone may be able to help me find a grandfather and his
family in Pictou County, Nova Scotia. His name is Henry? Taylor, wife:
Elizabeth? Taylor and their children, Mary Ann, William, and a few others I
cannot confirm names for. He was located near or in Westville /Stellarton
area around 1908 (give or take a few years) until the time of his death. I
do not have a date or year for his death. . . the only thing I do know is
that he died in a mining accident (explosion) in the early years (1908-1913)
As far as I know he had already passed when MaryAnn married in Stellarton in
1913. On the certificate it states that she lived in Westville. He had
another son who also died at the mine when the boiler exploded on the
surface, scalding him to death. I have checked the miners memorial and the
mining museum in Pictou county for their names and there is nothing close to
a Taylor in their records. . . This is something I have been working on for
some time and I have not gotten any closer to finding them.
Any info would be of help. . .
Thanks all,
Sherii
