NC I am seeking the birthdate of Richard Martin whom I presume was born somewhere in NC prior to 1755 as well as the name of his first wife, my 4th ggparents. I know very little about this man and nothing about the first wife. IF my 3rd ggmother was the first child, she was born ca 1769. I know that Richard married as his second wife Frances Turner in Caswell Co., NC in 1783; that their first child, Richard, Jr. was born 1783 and died in TN in 1841. He had married a Brown and migrated with her family into TN. Then Richard and Franky had two daughters, Bitha and Sarah. In the meantime Richard had moved to Wayne Co NC with his family. [I do not know if this was bounty land or not.] During the early half of 1786 died in Wayne co. Any help that anyone can give me re parentage, MOST IMPORTANT date of birth (and place if available, place and date of first marriage and her name as well. Richard served 2.5 years during the Rev War however, I am having difficulty in anything that I can reasonably feel that what I find is definitely/comfortable say So far no one has stepped forward with anything about this family. From what I have gleaned from other sources he had a daughter who died before he wrote his will and was from the first marriage; one son of the first marriage and two additional daughters. I would appreciate any and all help I can get. If you do not have the documentation can you direct me to a source. I would like to file a supplemental with DAR on this ancestor. I will follow this note up with a download of the 9 pages of this Revolutionary War Pension File. I was able to read the wife's name as Frances so I assume this is your Richard.
