Subject: [ROOTS-L] Re: NARA

Hello Joanne,
NARA = National Archives and Records Administration. It is the
repository for federally produced records in the USA. They have many
records helpful to genealogists, including census, immigration
(passenger lists) and some naturalization records. Here is a link to
the genealogy section of their website...

http://www.archives.gov/research_room/genealogy/

Some of their microfilm publications can be found at one of the NARA
branches...

http://www.archives.gov/facilities/

Some of them can also be found at the LDS Family History Library in
Salt Lake City and these can be ordered for viewing from local Family
History Centers for a fee.

Good luck with your searches.

Regards,
Joe
