In town records I've read previously the voters elected three selectmen at the town meeting and one tax collector. Stetson voters elected three Assessors and a tax collector, along with numerous other town officials. Is this term Assessor another name for a Selectman and not an assessor as we use the term now? Or did the Selectmen also assess the valuation and tax rate for the town? I tried a Google search and got nowhere fast. I think I don't use the right search terms. I hope someone can help. Alta
