Subject: [ROOTS-L] Same Sex-Partners

Most gay/lesbian people refer to their partners as significant others. Most
genealogy programs don't list that option. I'm sure you can make a note
within your relatives listing that his significant other was: ...........
Since gay/lesbian partners are not legally recognized, it would most likely
be something that most family members don't want to know. However, after
death there is nothing to hide from the family -- so make it as a comment
within that person's listing in your genealogy program -- If they are upset
by the information it's their problem and not yours. The TRUTH IS THE TRUTH.
Life partners grieve and love the same fashion as those of the blood family
-- I hope various genealogy programs list this option in the future.
