Subject: [ROOTS-L] George Mills of Jamaica, NY

Hi all,

I hope this message doesn't violate any policy about marketing material
on this list, but we need to decide on the size of the print run for my
new book. I need to convince the publisher that there will be some
demand for it beyond the immediate relatives of the focus family. This
will be the first really serious account of the family to appear in
print.

Tentatively titled Some American Ancestry of Herbert Lee Mills and
Bessie Delano Kendall, the book will be published, probably in early
2001, by the Newbury Street Press. About half of this book, probably
about 100 pages or so, is a detailed, thoroughly documented account of a
line from George Mills of Jamaica, Long Island, New York. The line runs
from George through his son Jonathan, Samuel and his son Samuel of
Elizabethtown, N.J., Samuel of Morristown, N.J., Edward, Jabez, Charles
Lewis Mills who went to Mass., Lyman Allan and Herbert Lee Mills of
Middletown, Conn. This book contains more detail on George, his son
Jonathan and his sons than has ever been collected anywhere. (Well, it
doesn't go into great detail about Timothy of Smithtown, Long Island,
but it does have some information on him.) It also challenges
assumptions made about the early generations of this family in various
collections and databases. Anyone interested in this book could send
their name and address to me at hsu@world.std.com.
