I am also storing this as a GENEALOG file. It will be modified as needed to meet future requirements. Read on... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Instructions for submissions of articles in the GENEALOG area I will be happy to post anything that you would write in that area. If you are willing to write it, format it (per instructions below) and send it to me, then I will post it, is that fair enough ? We are always very, very interested in posting articles, histories, family information, research analysis of most anything pertaining to genealogy. The filenames of these articles may be up to 8 characters long, and the title may be up to 48 characters long. We have several types of articles in this area about genealogy: 1. Articles to help the public in general learn more about how to find information about their own family history. 2. Articles about where and how to get vitals information 3. Articles about archive storage sites for programs and other interesting files pertaining to genealogy. 4. We have some GEDCOM files which would be of wide public interest. The files listed above will remain in the GENEALOG and be available to the public. I also will store the following type files in the GENEALOG for an undetermined length of time, due to space and other requirements. Since we have requested that the readers of ROOTS-L not post any articles in the ROOTS-L area which are longer than 10,000 bytes, I will post: A. Articles which have been written about your own genealogy or family history which are longer than 10,000 bytes. I can only post articles for a 3 or 4 month period of time. B. Any other long articles of a genealogical nature, which might be of public interest. - - - Format for articles to be posted. All articles in the GENEALOG area of ROOTS-L, are required to be as follows: 1. ASCII file and with no graphics characters 2. Formatted less than 78 characters per line 3. All surnames in the file be in UPPERCASE. 4. If the ASCII file is over 100,000 bytes then split it into parts, and email to me in parts less than 70,000 bytes each, with filename, and part number in the subject of each message (see below). 5. Subject: Submission: GENEALOG: filename: part # of # 6. Other formats will not be accepted. - - - Email address for mailing these articles.
